it is advisable to select a product or service you respect,
believe in, and trust.
Sincere Desire ........ when you have motive,
goals and passion, a sincere desire automatically develops
Commitment.......... this is a hard one. Yet if
motive, goals, passion and a sincere desire have developed
through research and a "knowingness" about your selected service
or product, commitment will silently take over your life and
your actions.
This leads us to the reason most people don't succeed in
Business Development. We don't research the different
products or services in order to understand the pros and cons.
No relationship is perfect and this includes business
relationships as well. True passion kick in when you know
the down side of your selected product, service or industry as
well as the benefits.
One of the top benefits of having a carrier as a
Business
Development Specialist, is you get to control your time,
establish a home office and control your bottom line.
The biggest drawback is, in many cases, you are paid commission
only. You are not sure from month to month what your
income will be. You spend a lot of time implementing a
budget that as a question mark under "income per month"
Thus is it advisable to develop a stream of monthly income that
can cover your basic month to month needs.
People accomplish this task in different ways. Some have
to depend on unemployment or their 401K plan. Others get a
part-time job or provide a day to day service that will provide
a small cash flow of monthly income.
Going from a $500 commission check to a $5000 a month commission
check can be exciting, as well as depressing and or frightening
when it's the other way around.
If you are an individual who can't live with the dramatic ups
and downs of a commission check, then a Business Development
career may not be for you.
